UNIVERSITY COMMUNICATIONS

MAIL AND PACKAGES. Please email concerns or comments about your mail service to: housingmail@pobox.upenn.edu

Receiving Mail.
Residents' mailboxes are located behind the Information Center in each lobby of each building. In these boxes, you will receive regular, United States Post Office Mail including First class Mail and Flats (magazines, envelopes larger than 8.5 x 11 inches). Your mail is handled on-campus by Datrose, a private mail-handling company contracted by the University. Mail is delivered to your mailbox Monday through Saturday. Deliveries are completed by 2 PM each day.

Receiving Packages.
Packages sent via UPS or U.S. Postal Services are processed by Datrose Delivery Systems. For information regarding this, please see the "Package Pick-Up Process" described below.

Packages are delivered daily to the Package Room, located in Sansom Place East, Room 222 (Phone: 3-1141). Datrose employees log in packages and notify you in one of the following ways:

  1. If an email address is on record, an email notification will be sent as soon as the package is logged in.
  2. If no email address is available, a hard copy notification is placed in your mailbox by 4p.m. the day the package arrives.
After the initial notification you will receive two additional notices. If you do not pick up your package within 3 days of your final notification, the package will be returned to sender.

Package Pick-Up Process. Once you receive notification that your package has arrived please visit the Package Room on the second floor of Sansom Place East to retrieve the package. You must bring your student ID card and the package notification with you. In addition you will be asked to sign for the package when you pick it up.

Sending Mail. Outgoing U.S. (and international) mail should be dropped into the closest U.S. mailboxes - in front of the Sheraton (36th and Chestnut), or at the north-east of 36th & Walnut. You may leave intramural at the Information Center for distribution across campus. This service takes several days.

SAs and Housing Services Life staff use these boards to post important notices pertaining to Sansom Place. So, if you want to know where to get to get the next piece of free pizza, who's coming to speak this month at a special event, how to secure your room over break, when Facilities Services will be scheduling routine shut downs, please READ THOSE BOARDS!!!

In the lobbies...
Near the Elevators... These boards are reserved for information relating to Penn and Philadelphia area programs.

Near the Mailboxes...The boards near the mailboxes are for the use of Sansom Place residents. Please feel free to post announcements on them as appropriate.
